1. Reducing the destructive effects of stress:
Prolonged stress is harmful because of its effect on the stress glands called the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands produce hormones that influence sleep, digestion, weight gain, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, allergies, immunity, heart function, fatigue and more. These glands can usually be helped through diet and supplements.
2. Reducing chemical toxicity:
Although the water and air is polluted world-wide, the American food supply contains more chemicals than most other countries. There are 82,000 chemicals that we come into contact with each week. To defend against these chemicals, our body surrounds them in fat where they are stored. As a result we gain weight, feel fatigued, and are more susceptible to a host of other health problems.
