Inertial Traction

Inertial traction is also known as "passive motion therapy" or "reverse gravity therapy". This unique powered traction table was developed more than 25 years ago, and proved to be the forerunner of the modern "disc decompression" devices commonly in use today.

This table uses "inertia" to cause a gentle elongation of the spinal column while the patient is in a completely relaxed recumbent position with the legs slightly elevated. The rythmic decompression of the spine causes a stimulation of the elastin fibers of the intervertebral discs and supportive ligaments. It also stimuilates re-hydration of degenerative disc material via a process called "imbibation".

Inertial traction also  provides a gentle "lifting" effect to internal organs which have a tendency to "sag" due to gravity as we age. (This condition is called "visceroptosis"). Patients have reported improvements of internal conditions after a series of treatments with inertial traction. (EX: constipation, retroverted uterus, hemorrhoids). Although these results are NOT expected benefits, ithey are certainly welcomed "side effects" of the treatment.

Quantum Vitality Centres is proud to be one of the only facilities in Florida to offer "inertial traction" to it's patients.
